Yes,i have made some 2 piece boards into 1
but i used finishing nails 2 1/2 inch,drive the nail half way in,
cut the head off add the other piece on and glue.
but the biscuit joiner will work just as good.you need a good glue.

I gotta think that with the biscuit joints they would hold up, those are about as strong as you can get. They are easy too as long as you got the toys.
