Several days condensed here>> Couldnt sleep, been up since 2am. Guys all headed for the woods. Soon as the kids get up and to school and sitters Im going out. Gonna run a couple of the stops on the line then go look some more for the buck. Was planning on expanding the line south today but that's on hold.Fur didnt move much night of the 8th I guess as there was only 5 'rats waiting monday 9th AM for me. Nov.10th Ran two stops on the way to look for my deer. Stop no.1- 6 firewood sets, 3 barricades and THE log set. Picked up a red in the badger remake(1st), rat in the barricades and lucky me a possum soaking in the log set. 2nd stop- 19 110's and the tinfish set. 3 rats in the 110's and a keeper(large) coon in the tinfish. Spent 3 hours looking for my deer, no blood so just ended up walking ever growing circles. Finaly gave up. Guess it was a clean miss? 3rd stop-17 110's and 6 floats, 1 rat in the V clump again(new rat lure has impressed me) 2 in the other 16 110's, 1 on the floats. 4th stop- 10 110's and 6 stoploss's, 1 rat in the 110's 1 small coon released out of the stoploss's and 1 keeper. Total for the two days 14 rats, 1 red, 1 possum, 2 keeper coons. I figured the rat catch would drop off some as they got thinned out. Hoping to start setting the south zone tomorrow.

Nov. 11th ran the line and its about time to pull it, stop no 1 with 17 110's and 6 floats had 3 rats 2 of'em on the floats, debated on pulling this lake but didnt(came to regret that). Stop no.2 6 wood sets, 3 barricades and THE log. Had a skunk in the wood sets, 1 rat in the barricades and a keeper coon under the log. Stop no. 3 19 100's and 1 tinfish produced no rats and 1 keeper coon. Stop no.4 10 110's and 6 stoploss's no rats and 1 possum that stumbled into the pond? Days catch of 4 rats, 1 skunk, 2 coons, 1 possum. Nov.12th Pulled up to the lake with 17 110's and 6 floats, could only see 4 floats at first. Kids or someone had pulled two closest to shore onto the dam and made a mess. Smashed floats and a rat with chunks of concrete about the size of a grapefruit as they were laying there with the tree limb they had used to pull the floats up. I hope the rat was dispatched before they pulled it ashore. Traps will need some work but salvagable. 110's were empty 1 other rat on a float they couldnt reach. Pulled all 17 110's and 6 floats. Called the owner and he was in agreement with me it was probably kids from the subdivision on the south side of the lake. I told him I would be back after freeze up to see if I could help anymore. Stop no.2 19 110's and 1 tinfish, had 2 rats in 110's and another good coon in tinfish. Stop no.3 10 100's and 6 stoploss, 1 rat in 110's. Stop no.4 6 wood sets, 3 barricades and THE log, 1 red in the wood, 1 35lb(?)beaver in the top barricade and a keeper coon under the log. Total for the day 5 rats, 1 red, 2 coon, 1 beaver. Moved over by the interstate and set up 2 ponds first with 9 110's, 3, 2 trap floats and 2 coon tinfish sets. 2nd pond 14 110's and 3, 2 trap floats and used the mashed rat for a deep pocket set behind the dam with a modified 1 1/2LS and mink lure. Im leery theft may be an issue here. 5 stops now

Well had deer to hunt and process and critters to skin and stretch or freeze. Just got some free time to sit and type. Took 31 rats since I last posted, lost count of the possums 6 I think(?), 2 reds and 5 keeper coon. Got out on a very wet line this am the 16th of November. 1st stop 9 110's and 3 floats and 2 tinfish. Didnt expect alot of rats as there wasnt alot of fresh sign. 1 rat in the 110's and 1 rat on a float. Had a double on keeper coon in the tinfish though. 2nd stop 14 110's, 3 floats and the pocket set. Had 3 rats in the 110's, and the first mink of the year, nice boar in the pocket set. 3rd stop 19 110's and a tinfish 1 rat in the 110's and a 2nd mink for the day in the tinfish. 4th stop 10 110's and 6 stoploss's, no rats in the 110's but had a keeper coon and a small one we released in the stoploss's. 5th stop was the 6 wood sets, 3 barricades and THE log. Wood sets looked like little backyard fish ponds from the rain we've had but still had a soaked yote(was happy to give him a truck ride) and 1 tripped. 2 rats in the barricades and the best keeper coon so far this year soaking under the log. Good run considering the weather, 'course coon love this stuff. Gonna pull all but maybe one pond and the deer farm with the 6 wood sets thursday as gun deer season opens friday. We'll be short on time and out problems/theft increase's during gun deer season. Good luck all. P.S. our coons are priming up good, debated on not running a very big line for them but our main buyer thinks they will increase in price. If they'll pay for the gas I'd be happy. Debating on putting out a good size line next monday as the kids are out for about a week from school. Time'll tell.

November 17th? We've had rain for 48 hours straight. Buddy is hunting the "deer farm" where the 6 wood sets are. He texted me a few minutes ago and said the sets are in a new pond and the creeks up 2 feet. Hope I can save the 3 220's and the no.2 coil on the log. Ive gambled before and lost complete lines due to floods and had to try and recover the traps after the water subsides. Shoulda pulled the 220's and no.2 yesterday, but was hoping to get one more good run out of'em. That procrastinating may cost me. Waiting to take my 3yr old to school so my 4 yr old and nephew can join me on the line.

Well got out on the line today Nov.17th. Pulled the 6 wood sets and moved them over by the The log, made cubby sets for lack of a better term out of'em. Didnt want to haul them all uphill to the truck and back down again in a few days so figured this would be a way to at least have a chance at some fur with'em. Upstream barricade was tripped but empty, debris I imagine, I tripped the other two with my hook as they are about 3' under now. no.2 on the log was pulled off and empty. Ponds everywhere are spilling over onto roads etc. Most of the ponds are 2'-5' above my run sets. The ones I could get to I checked. The ponds cant get any higher so I reset the shallower 110's and hope to get into the deeper ones in a few days. Predicting the rain to end tomorrow. Its rained since Saturday night here. Recovered 5 rats. Footholds are under 1'-5' of water. This is fun right? LOL
