I wish I had the experience to say for sure! I have hoped to catch one in a 110/120 before but it just didn't happen.

I don't have one favorite but i have caught more mink in the 1 1/2 sls than any other trap,i also like the #2dls the 1 1/2 coil the 110 & 120 conni. I also like to add i caught more mink in blind sets that with baited sets over the years.

First choice is always a no.11. No.1 or 1 1/2SLS are good too. Ive caught alot of them in no.1 and no.1.5 coils. No.21 SLSDJ are good too if you have any. No.2 DLS was a standard mink and coon trap awhile back and we used it some too. But having said all of that a no.11 is my pick for my favorite mink foothold and what we set most. 110 size conibear work best. Ive caught them in 220's but they can slip thru easily enough unless you plan ahead. The new size 50's or 55's(?) that are 3.5"x4.5" or so intrigue me. Weve caught more mink in lured sets or blind sets then baited sets. One year we were trapping hard and out of 66 mink only a 8 or 9 were from baited sets, lure took about 40 of them and blind sets took about 12 or so and 3 or 4 were from rat runs. We now rarely use bait only in sets for any water critters except under ice beavers. Having said that too, mice hold a strange attraction for mink. Almost every year for several years there our biggest boars we caught were on fresh ground or ground and tainted mice. One tear we had one pocket set under the edge of a bridge that produced 4 boars and a sow in about 9 days and it was baited with ground tainted mice.

I hope after this season to have caught enough mink to maybe give you proper answer, I don't think 2 mink gives me enough to go on yet.

My best trap for mink is a 120, on all my 120's I have flattened the end of the trigger wire with a hammer, drilled a 1/16 th. hole and using a small piece of wire made a half circle between the trigger wires. I watched a movie on trap testing where there was no wire between the trigger wires, the mink repeatibly went between the trigger wires getting the bait. I felt this was happening to me, after modifying my 120's, no more bait stealing, they also work great on blind sets, for rats and mink either on land or in the water.

backwoodsman; I also did a couple of 220's. I had several sets on running poles along a marsh, where bait was always getting stolen( beaver pieces). Finely put 220's in boxes, and put the wire between the triggers, started catching mink in those 220's.

All mentioned ones are good mink traps. Anyone ever use mink cubbys like stove pipe etc? We did good with those at times too. Had some 110's fit and they were really good for mink.

There are a lot of good mink sets,,but when ever you add lure & bait it becomes a coon set to.
