For you beaver trappers who have made your own floats... How do you keep you 330's from slipping out due to the current or anything else? Do you use hooks & rubber bands to keep them in the slots?

How are you making your floats,I use 6 nails. I never made any before until yesterday. I made two of them out of 2x4 boards & plywood. Both of them are 36" long. I'll post photos when I get them on my comp.

I didnt float test them yet but, this is what I ended up making over this weekend... I made a few muskrat floats as well. I'll center post these with either conduit or rebar.

With that beaver float design bungee cord would work best.
Nice looking muskrat floats.

Thanks Judd! It's a shame that I have to wait until next season to try them out since everything is closed here in Illinois except beaver which only has 4 days left. At least I'm planning ahead!

Agree bungee cord. I think those long rat floats are going to need a piece of 1x1 about 2 inches up from the bottom to keep them from tipping. Good looking floats.by the way

They shouldnt tip much if I have them set with a center post through the middle of them. Well I wouldnt think they'd tip much.
