Hot and dry here in the Sunflower State. I seen the bank had 40 C on it when I got home yesterday. Got just a little rain yesterday night, but only localized to amount to about 1/2 in. In drought conditions here, and the forecasters are saying hotter and dryer than normal, all the way into October. Going to be a tough year for us trappers here in Kansas. It is suppose to hit 110 F next week. We are almost 11 inches behind on rain.

Still no rain here to speak of. Temps starting to peel off a little and highs are in the low 90's and upper 80's,,,better than the 100's. Suppose to be getting some rain chances towards the end of the week, but we have been getting the same, and it keeps missing. Forecast is calling for a bit of a cool down to the upper 70's. We are under severe drought conditions.

Jase i guess your muskrat trapping will be low this year. I amagine all the ponds i seen when i was down there are now dust bowls?

Looks like we are getting summer here after all. Scorching heat and drying conditions. Fire hazard reaching extreme in some areas now. Campfire ban will be on starting Friday noon in our region. Will mean 5 days patrol (Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, & Mon). That will cut into some of my planned "to do" list.

Wow, I am SO jealous! I was amazed, that we actually got down to 58 f the other night! Highs are still in the 80's and 90's for the most part. Still dry as a gila monsters tail tip.
