heavy smoke here yesterday, mainly from the U.S fires. We were down to 30 fires still burning but after the weekend we are now over 50 again. Most of the seasonal fire fighters are back to school so that will put more burden on the ones that are remaining. We have some rain today and some cooler weather a head, this should help. Last time i checked we were overe 700,000 hectre,s burned, a new record for Ontario in one season.

Big thunderstorm blew through here last night starting about 4 am this morning, a little rain but I am betting we will have a few fire starts in the next few days from all the lightning strikes. Lots of rumbling as the storm passed. Sure hope it rains more here today in North Bay very dry. Jim
