heading out to cabin tomorrow to replace 8x10 light plant and storage building with a 12x16 with a floor this time. Will wire it up so there is lights and will put a wood stove for heat. The wood stove is one i made years ago for the garage but i replaced it with a csa approved stove for insurance reasons. Will take pics as i progress and post later. Time is running out before the season starts and i have so much more to do..........lol

Wow you sure rounded up lots of help, and it looks like that one fella could have hand bombed the shed on the trailer by himself.... Heres a question for you guys. Do you use pressure treated lumber for your trapping buildings?? I plan on building a camp next spring (12x20 to start) and I'm trying figure what its going to cost me.

Greg that moose is my brothers boy, yep he is a power house. The new 12x16 storage shop is treated lumber for the support beams, 2x8,the floor joist are 2x6 treated 16 inch centers. The floor is 5/8 treated plywood and the bottom plates for the walls are treated 2x4. All the other plywood is non treated as well as the 2x4 for the walls and top plate. Total cost for the building with 2 slider windows 24x24 and one 36 inch steel door was $970.00. The duty at the border was $124.00. You can say $1100.00 and here at our lumber yard the price was just shy of $1900 and that did not include the door and windows. I got all the stuff at Menards in International falls. Fuel bill for driving there was $69.00.I think it is always better to use treated wood that will be exposed for many years, such as your support beams, floor joist and floor. Greg don,t forget to insulate your floor, it sure makes a big difference. I used blue high condensed Styrofoam.

I love this time of year the days are cooler, the night a lot easier to sleep, no bugs to speak of, only problem is that the days are grower shorter, have to make the most of the daylight now, as it only gets worse. Before you know it we will be hunting moose and time to starting to trap. Jim
