Wolf, that girl was old. Her teeth were all rounded off and she was a little under weight. I think she was our digger on that line. We pulled that line yesteday, so I guess we will never know for sure. She skinned out nice though, better than I expected. The red one we wil tan. She is a little unique in color around here. When I first saw her, I thoght she was a fox

Keller is back to work today so I am running only my three lines. Kellers son in law is running his line. It started snowing last night sometime after I went to bed at about 10PM. When I got up at 5 AM there was about 2 inches on the ground. I ran the three lines and had one coyote in a #3 set at a dirt hole. The other two lines were untouched. I saw lots of rabbit, squirrel and deer tracks, but nothing else. By the time I finished running the lines another inch or so of snow had fallen.

nice catch H, now with the snow you can see better whats going on. Nothing better than a fresh snow to get the animals moving.

No catches this morning. Had two tripped traps. Both were in plastic bags with too much peat moss over the top. Balled up the peat in between the jaws and I suspect it kicked the foot out. Would have been ok if there had been only snow covering the plastic (I think).

Im my opinion, with the snow the way it is here, you will get the same results. Stick with peat/buckwheat hulls and calcium chloride. We have had NO problems with freeze ups or anything else using this system. Sometimes however, coons will dig up the traps i think because the peat is different. This is just my 2 cents.
