I ran the lines yesterday morning. No catches. I scooted off to town to get the Rim mounted. It looks good, all clean and shiney on a very dirty truck. Then back to the lines. I moved some traps around and made a new set or two. I was in the timber till almost 5 PM. I also cleaned up all the buckets and put them back in working order. Most had been sitting baitless and with the safetys on for about 3 weeks. I added about 4-5 buckets in key locations. I have been seeing Grinner and Coon tracks along the creeks and at a bait pile. Can't hardly wait to go check this morning. I still have some more work to do on the line, so I will get that done this afternoon.

Nothing, It was down to 18 this morning. I thought they might run early since it was above freezing yesterday. They have to be hungry.

Fuzz a lot of the stains will come out, but it seems the longer they lay up, the harder it is to get out. I think the urine gets concentrated, therefore stronger and harder to get out. That is just my opinion, I know of no scientifice data to back it up

LOL if we neaded scientifec data to back up every thing we said I would have about 12 posts by now lol Thanks for the info thow, I dont have racoons in my area so they are a total mystery to me, so all the info you fellas have on them is great for me lol. Maybe one day I will get a chance to go down south and trap some on privet property. could be fun lol

It got into the mid 40's yesterday and melted a bunch more snow. When I ran the lines this morning it was 27 degrees F. The ground and snow was froze, but was thawing out by the time I got both trap lines run. I had two coons and two squirrels in 220's. I guess the squirrels are getting tired of corn. At any rate they will be good eating. This coon weighed 17.2 pounds and had the frame of a much bigger coon. He is the ugliest boar coon I have ever caught. His left eye is missing and he is very dirty looking, almost dark yellow in color. He sure destroyed a Cat set. I have caught two coyotes and one bobcat in this set. It is a decent producer This boar coon weighed 21.10 pounds. His pelt is in good shape with no stains or rubs. He was fat and healthy.

Wolf I am at 59 coons as I hauled these two in. I may have a chance for another or two in the morning, but that may be it as we are headed back to the single digits by early next week. May get a major snow storm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The season ends on Feb 15th. I skinned that old ugly coon this morning and found birdshot under his hide. He also had a large cyst in front of one hind leg.
