They are store bought. The are called a Bertram power snare. They are made in Canada I think. They work good but they are all I can get a permit for around here. Oh unless it makes the Co's life easier then I can use tradional free hangers! LoL oops did that sound like sarcasim?

If you look on this side of the ram you can see where he stopped and thought about it for a bit. Denied! LoL

Thanks wolf! Ya with the snow I am able to see that there are still some around, they are a leary bunch. Most don't come right to the baits , YET! lol Seen a few refusals and a couple got lucky with ducking under or beside. One fox jumped through .

Talk to the local fur buyer last night and I am supposed to bring in my furs tommorow. I do ship them when I am trying to pay bills with fur but when work is good and I am doing it as a hobby I much preferr the hand on of selling to a good honest buyer. After all if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be doing it . He predicts some decent prices for me but realy doesn't want my rats. He wants me to ship them because he figures I will do a lot better and he doesn't want hard feelings. He figures maybe 4 dollar average. Most of my rats are small so if he gives me that I think I will take it with a smile. I never get hard feelings due to the fact that he taught me everything I know about yotes and putting them up . I still use some of the stretchers and fleshing knife he gave me to help get started quite a few years ago. Work starts friday so I am pulling everything today, any catches will probaly be sold whole . Sad day.

Sounds like your buyer is honest, good luck with your fur sale. You have had a very good run on your line this year with such short time. Thanks for taking us along and sharing .

Forgot to take the catch photo where he laid . That is why he looks like he died on top of the brnches.

It is a tough world out there. Some one forgot the safety on the ram . This poor coyote must be a loner or something .The snare is actually broken off the ram and the disembowled her there. She probaly would have made it if they wouldn't have got her first!

If you look back at my photo's from last check this is the set where they denied me and backed out. Guess they got tired of going around the area , just go around the snare instead! Got to give them credit. I sometimes wunder if they even know how close they are to danger? Maybe my chin lifter was a bit thick. If I had one more check I would have replaced it with a thinner ,less obvios one. Was going to last check but everything looked so natural with the fresh snow. Now I pay ! HaHa Ha
