Hi fellas, I just read some bad news, sounds like Harold is in the hospital in bad shape. This was posted on the Wild About Trapping forum buy another friend of our.
Redrooster's good friend Keller just called to tell me that redrooster (Harold) is in Intensive Care on a ventilator. He had some urinary problems that shut down his kidneys he had swelling of the brain. I believe Keller said redrooster in a medical facility in Olathe KS. That's all I know for now.
Harold's name over there is Redrooster.
This is the last up date on WAT
I just received a call from Harold's wife and she could only talk for a moment and said his kidneys are now worse and it looks like he will go on dialysis. The neurologist isn't coming to check his brain for damage until after he is unsedated and off the ventilator. She said he will squeeze her hand when asked questions. She said she expects him to be there no less than two weeks.
We are all hopin and prayin that he pulls threw this with no ill efects.

The update this mornin sounds much better
Dave said red's wife had told him that red is doing much better and that they had him up and walked him a little yesterday. Still waiting on the Neurologist to examine him for any damages. keep him in your prayers.

Just read this and thought I would pass it along
Two updates and a correction on redrooster---the correction is that they had him "up" (sitting I suppose) but not walking around--a miscommunication, sorry. His wife told me this morning that she was waiting to have a meeting with the doctor. She thanked everyone for their prayers and kindness. She said his kidneys are worse and they are leaving him on the ventilator for now and keeping him sedated. He started dialysis today and probably tomorrow. Later his friend Keller called and said he'd spoken with red's wife and that he has retained as much as 20lbs of fluid and may have the beginnings of pneumonia. Sounds like he is still in dire straits, so keep him on your hearts and minds.

talked with Larry tonight (swamprat) , Harold is holding is own for now, still allowed no visitors.

I just read another update on H, this isnt soundin good, hope he can keep fightin the good fight
Just got word from cdr who had spoken with redrooster's wife today. She did not give any indications that redroosters is making improvements but just the opposite. Seems he is having some serious problems due to his situation. Please keep him in your prayers!

Cdr spoke with Mrs Hughes today and this is basically what she shared with him: Harold (redrooster) is out of CCU. He is breathing on his own but it is labored. He has a feeding tube in his stomach. He is still paralized and he can not see. Just wanted to let ya know cause Mrs. Hughes said she is having trouble getting back with folks that have inquired. I told her that I conveyed his condition to you and would share this new info with you as well. I informed Mrs. Houghes of the benefit auction and she cried. She stated they were tears of joy from the compassion and concern that all of us have shown Harold. I would not have normally told about her crying but she wanted me to let the fellow "online trappers" know that she appreciated us. You bet Wolf, I hope you can get in to see him for a bit, I am sure it would mean the world to him. Herolds wife made a post this mornin on WAT thankin all the trappers for the calls and flowers and such, and she said they will be lookin for a special care home that can meet Harolds neads, sad news for sure.

Well fellas our bad news went to terriable news, Harold passed away this morning. This is a sad day for sure, at least his sufferin is over now and he can be at peace. Thoughts and prayrs go out to his wife and family in these tuff times.

Very sad news. He was a true gentleman and trapper and friend. He will be dearly missed by all. Rest in peace my friend and my thoughts and prayers to the family.
