Dying some beaver traps

Finally of work for break up. Getting some of my beaver traps dyed so I can head out and start setting ! and Seb in his hunting blind.

And my helper dragging out some snare pole bait.

We still have so much snow I don't know how it will go. I promised to try and clean up some beavers for a few guys so I better get after them or they are going to shoot them and they will go to waste. Funny last year I was open water trapping already.

We got more snow than last year at this time,,do what you can do,,,,,looking forward to see the pics.

Got out today and set up 5 houses. With all this snow there is only a couple inches of ice around the houses. I never thought I would complain about to little ice but it would make my life a little easier if there was enough to stand on while I shovel. Lol. .

Sorry no pics today. Me And Seb went and tried to set up another house or tried to. Couldnt find the run and I take back that statement about wish there was more ice. 2 feet all around the house. After opening up four holes I finally put in a baited conibear. I know they have a feed bed because I seenit in the fall. But with the flood ice I could find it till I opened a holes And discovered I was in it. Finally the last hole I seemed to be on the edge Not much of a set but after all that I wasn't leaving without something hanging. We got to the next place a discovered the loading ramp for the trailer wasn't there so we had to drive back to first place and found it right where we turned onto the road on the shoulder. Thank god it come unhooked right away and wasn't in the middle of the road it is a pretty busy road and I had visions of a little old with it rolled up in a ball under her Cadillac Lol. Decided to go home seeing how we where almost there anyways.

Did the first check today. Only got one and one trap was sprung. A little disappointing but maybe we will have better luck next time. As I said before there is very little ice on this creek. Had a beaver come out and do a little walking around. He never came out of on of my holes but out by the feed bed. This is the house we had the spring trap. We are ready for him if he comes out again. This one we caught in a run It was the last trap to check so we ended on a happy note.

He was pretty happy ! I found out that the land owner we are trapping on has purchased a section of land that this creek runs through since my map was made. I traped it in high school with a fellow who's uncle use to own it I know he did trap a few since then but dosnt trap any more . I had my hopes up a couple other times in the past only to be disappointed by no beavers but am hopping there is some here. Me and Seb are going to check it out tomorrow. It is a real dirty ravine but hope we can ride the shore to get close. Just got to get more sets out to increase the odds

Well there was beaver there but with all the flood ice I wasn't able to figure out much. I will leave them till fall and then I will be able to see what's going on.

Did a check today. Got one in a run and another onther on a snare pole. One other trap was set off.
