We use this set some still after all the new improvements with the newer sets. We call it the Cache set. Its not new and we didnt invent it but tweaked it a little. Its a good change up for canines that have been looking at dirtholes for several seasons. Bury a chunk of meat, fox carcass or rabbit offal/hide etc about 1/2" deep, keep it all in a 8" size area. Bed your trap right on top and blend the set in but not too good as you want it to appear that something buried a meal there. You can place a few pebbles etc to help guide the critter to the trap pan but Ive caught canines without doing that. Squirt or two of yote or fox urine about 15 feet away on a tuft of grass etc will help the illusion and you can make a scent post set right there too.
