Have any of you fellas tryed Formula 1, it is the water based trap dip. I bought some a few years ago and realy like it, I do all my water traps with it. I used it on my K9 traps and it worked fine but I prefur dye and wax on them. I even did my 110, 120and 160 body grippers with it and it held up fine, this will be the third winter and some are just startin to nead re dippin, I will probly do all of them next spring. It dryes fast in the sun, you can do a few caots in a day if nead be. I save my left over dip for the next year in an old icecream pail and just add to it when it gets low, it is good stuff. Has any one else used it and liked or dis liked it??

There are a lot of speed dips on the market now and some trappers have no complaints and use them every season.

I hve never used the real speed dip, just the formula 1 stuff, I never liked waxin my water traps is why I tryed this stuff. It seals up real nice and keeps them from rustin up on me, some of the beaver ponds and little creeks I trap, just eat traps, it must be somthin in the water or mud that does it but, if I catch one beaver on a drowner just from the little bit of fightin the trap at the bottom the trap comes out almost stripped and once the mud is gone it starts rustin fast. The F1 seams a little more risistant to what ever rusts them so bad. I tryed them on my coyote traps and cought coyotes no problems but I didn't like how the coating ackted when I boiled it befor redippin and waxin. It kinda pealed and removin the rest of it to go back to dye was a pain.

Is this the Formula 1 Trap Kote? I have used it but think I prefer to dye and wax. I really never know which trap will end up on land or water, could be a combination of both in any given season.

i never did take a likeing to it fuzz. seemed like it came off in small enough areas to really let the rust start, but not enough to really condone dipping again. i had fear that after i dipped several times , it would start building up and get to thick, and get sticky. so i just scraped it off and went back to dye and wax.

Mo I think Trap Kote is a diffrent product. That is to bad it didn`t work out for you Catman, I had some of my nicest and tuffesr coats on traps that were prity rusted so maybe that has somthin to do with it.
