I am fortunate, I am retired, but if I was still working, I doubt I would have time.

I get up early enough to run the traps before I go to work at 7, typically anywhere from 3:30 to 4 depending on the travel time and line length. I would like to be able to run after work, but I work in water distribution and there are frequent surprises that pop up and keep me at work after hours. That kind of rules that out. I also work anywhere from 1 to 3 nights a week at a liquor store. That job is for keeping gas in the tank for trapping season and it also pays for some outdoor supplies in the off season.

I am a small contracter, I operate heavy equipment and forman in the oil patch. Witch is finaly startin to happin again as it has bean dead for 2 years now. I also have a gravel truck and and old back hoe I do some work with. Basicly I am tryin to work as much as I can now and trap as much as I can this winter, I would rather be low on money and home every night trappin than 4 to 16 hours away from my family workin in some crappy camp all winter. It pays great but it sucks stayin away from your wife and kids for 2 or 3 months at a time.

I work for the government. New shift is 4pm to 2am so Im curious how that will affect all my fall hobbies. 4 days on, 3 days off though. Before I worked straight night shift and it worked out great. 7am I was home and got the kids ready for school and was running the line by 8am.
