They dont eat anything. Same here Fuzz, wife thinks I bought about 100 this spring and summer. Godson and I counted the ones in the basement(I can get down there now!) and its 237. I traded a few off now and I think your getting one or two that Ive never set Fuzz(on a line, I tested them all)? Otherwise I have no real idea, ball park estimate? 800? +? We also bought 2 dozen 160's this summer. so 24 and 237=261? Traded 9 footholds off so 252 acquired. I collect traps too so not all of them are users. I have to limit my time at the auction sites as I want to buy them all. Its hard to describe. Just love the feel of the steel I guess? lol

The verdict is in: I have 121 various foothold and body grip traps, and 62 snares ready to go with a few more to be made up before season bringing the current total of my potential animal takers to 183. I guess traps are kind of like guns eh? Just can't get enough.

Mohawk I know I cant get enough steel. I wheel and deal and let a few go and send a few to beginners. I was fascinated with footholds since I was young enough I had to stand on a no.0 SLS. Snares are basicaly only legal for beaver here so we never have many. Maybe 12 or so at a time. We have several antique shops around here now that call me when they get traps in. The local Six Flags in Eureka, Mo. had a OLD SLS hanging 15 feet up in the frontier town I'd love to get my hands on, lol. Tried to get one of the kids that worked there to "knock it down" for me, lol. Ever wore the rust off of a trap carrying it around and setting it? Ive bought traps at yard sales before that were just hanging on walls and I asked about them, lol. Maybe I am nuts!

Nothing wrong with being a little nuts, I am enjoying the variety that I am collecting. I have picked up some #1's, 2's, 3 & 4 DLS traps lately and really like the "tradition" of that style of trap. I guess every trap has its niche. I kind of figure that with the variety that I collect it will help expand the variety of animals I trap. I also grabbed up some MB 650's this year to expand my cat line.
