The newer dukes seam to be better quality than the older ones.

Ive got alot of Duke killer traps and footholds. They are worth the savngs to me. Bought 237 used traps this summer(shhh its a secret or I'd be killed)but traded some of them off for stuff and traps I can use. Bought 2 dozen new Duke 160's, dozen beaver snares and collecting the gear to make some more, 1 dozen more Coon Cuffs DP traps but wish I'd held off and got the new Duke DP's(dealin and wheelin with a buddy now to trade them off). Just traded 20 mixed brand 330's, few Dukes, for 11 assorted no.1 SLS and 3 Victor Guard traps, 12 220's, 5 160's, 23 110's all mixed brands and some were old Blake & Lamb sure grip 110's, 2 more 2 1/2 SLS Blake&Lambs and 4 no.1(or 1 1/2) Kompakt jumps. Brother says I got took. But we are moving away from using so many 330's. I really like the snares under the ice. I think it was a good deal all around?

You do a lot of trading backwoodsman, but like you say if your not going to use the 330s,better to get something you can use.

330's are so heavy to carry and a pain to set up espescialy under the ice. If you've ever got whacked by one even a glancing blow on half frozen hands, makes me shudder even now. Better hope you used the restroom first.

I am nt to sure on the from part but shippin to the USA is cheeper than shippin with in Canada. I shipped 2 weasel boards and 2 dish cloths my wife makes to a friend in Alberta and shipped 2 quart jars of canned moose plus 2 of the same dish cloths to a trapper friend in Texas and the moose meat only cost $8 more to ship.

Thanks Fuzz I was hoping you were happy with the trade. I'd recommend trading with you to everyone. Ive already loaded about 30 rounds with the .308. It was $28 or so shipping into Canada for 4 1 1/2SLS and a no,2 coil. If you do ship up there the way it was described to me theres cut offs for weight and if you fall into the center you pay whether you send say 1 lb or 1.4 lbs so I threw in an extra for Fuzz since the package was in the middle of that"level" for lack of a better term. The paperwork isnt hard to complete and the USPS helps and walks you right thru it. They even retaped my box as they werent sure my tape would hold(?). Are they that rough with the mail in Canada? It was packing tape, lol.

It was taped up enough when they were done I was afraid it would fall into the next "level or bracket" weight, lol. Trapping up there yet Fuzz? Cant wait to see the pictures. You guys dont know how lucky you are having such "odd" or diverse critters. Our most "exotic" critters are otter and bobcat and theyre protected. Theres a few wolves but DNR says there will never be a trapping season and maybe only a limited hunting season in a few decades.
