To day i made and painted 1 doz coyote snares,,just to try.
Does any one else paint there snares, ??

I never wanted to take the chance and paint them in case they could smell the paint,,let some one else try it first,

What color did you paint 'em? I painted some gray before and the yotes didn't seem to mind.

I just started to say, Mohawk paints em. Also I know of many other trappers on another site that paint not only their snares but traps too and they have great luck. I think I would paint half of my snares brown, and half of them white for snow..... er, that is if I ever get around to doing it!   |

I tried dying some in walnut juice but it didn't take very well, of course the snares weren't rusted either. I am going to end up painting them as well then. I boil them in baking soda sometimes too but I have plastic tubing for wammys on these snares and I don't know if they will take the heat.

I use plastic gas line tubin on mine and all boilin does is turn the tubbin white.
