I have frozen hides the last two years with no problems. The first years I wrapped them in freezer paper after skinning. This past season I tucked the head and tail to the inside and rolled them up hair side out. No problems with this method either. Some were frozen up to 2 months.

I have laid them out flat and stacked them with newspaper in between and rolled them up, both without any problems. The only time I had any issue was when I tried to flesh one and then freeze it; it don't work. The hide gets to drying out and makes it tough to get on a stretcher. So now I just skin and freeze, which is nice because if I am freezing them I don't really have time to put them up anyway.
