Hi fellas, I just have to do a little braggin about my oldest daughter so bear with me please lol.
The local church put on a turkey shoot on saturday, it was a blast it was not a member ship round up, just a small comunity get to know your nabor event, and it was one of the funest ones I have ever bean to. Brittney shot first in the youth iron sight event, there were probly 20 kids from 3 years to 14 years old. Well when the dust setled and all the brass was on the ground, Brittney had won second place in iron sight, the boy who beat her was 14 soon to be 15 and only beat her by 2 points, Britteny is 9. Then we find out she scored third over all in the youth group, even against kids with the scopes ( I worned you at the top of the page there was going to be some braggin) She won a can of cranbery sause for second place. Then we did the other groups, I tyed for forth in the mens iron sight event, not bad for a old wore out cooey single shot.
Here is a pix of Brittney shootin with the group, the boy who won is the fella in the blue and yellow jacket, the little girl next to her is in my other daughters grade 1 class and next is a little boy who is 3 years old, you can only see his hand. He hit the target once and he was as happy as any of the winners lol.
Here she is again
This is after all the main groups, we had fun shoots for turkeys. This one had about 15 people enter it, all ages all guns(scope or iron) we started shootin at 50 yards, you had 2 shots to hit a clay pigeon or you were out, each time every one had shot we moved back 5 more yards. The first time we did this event I made it to the final 4, in the second one it was down to Brittney and good friend of ours (old farmer who lets us hunt and trap all his land) Brittney finaly missed and old Don made the shot and won, but she did out shoot 13 other people, some of whom were grown men with scoped 22's (see bragin warnin at top of post)
After the last round old Don took Brittney off to the side and gave her the turkey he had won because she had shot so well he figured she earned it. He had told me befor the last shoot him and Brittney had, that he was doin this but it made it even better for her that he gave her his turkey.
She turned alot of heads at the shoot when her and that little black rifle kept being in the finals at most of the events she entered, I recived alot of complements about how well she shot and how safely she handled her gun, I was so proud you couldn't have wiped the smile of my face for nothen. I guess now all them days shootin at our back yard range teachin her how to stand and aim and handle her gun have paid off big time,,,,,and she got a turkey we can eat too lol. I warned ya about the braggin lol.
