Well who makes thier own Bait??? What is your best bait recipy?? Mine was the first bait I ever made and I still have 2.5 quarts of the original batch left. I took cubed moose meat (first road kill I found) put it in a gallon jar and set it up on the roof in the sun for about a week, once the smell got bad enough the wife said I had to get rid of that ^$#!@ jar, I took it down and stired it up and put it in the shead for a few more days just make sure the taint was even all the way threw. Then add a cup or so of sodiam bensinate and let sit till season. Works great in dirt hole sets for coyotes. Simple eazy cheep and works. Ok fellas your turn.
Oh and just for the record, I didn't come up with this on my own. It my first year trappin and a friend of mine from Alberta sent me this one, Thanks Trappintime.

like to start with sardines in oil. I place them in a food processor and chop until it is a thick paste. I then take it out, and mix in sun rendered fish oil or juice. I put in enough to "flavor" but not to make it runny or take over the sardine smell. I then add pure honey, and quality semi dry ground beaver castor. I let that all soak a day or two, then I add a decent touch of glycerine oil for a binder and to make it semi weather proof. Let it age at least a month for best results. A real cat taker, and also great for coon, fox , and coyotes.

Thanks cam! If you look at the cat's right front foot, you can see a trap. My son set this trap with our homeade bait around our cat sets to help keep coon and possums out of them.!! Ha! He actually saved the day as this one had already went thru our cat sets! Ironically, the cat looked as if it had deliberately jammed it's whole paw in the little #11 trap! Held her tight though!

We make alot of our own lure and bait. Our "tar bait" recipe works good but some forums I cant post it. Someone that knows the rules better? I can PM them and they can post it if its acceptable/allowed. We have tons of recipes for lure and bait.
