Finally I am able to post video of the #2 -15 pounders we got a couple nights ago. We also caught a 37 pound fish last night, which we went and got this morning. Here they are. This is Wyatt my 10 yr old hoisting in the second of the 15 lb. fish Here is the 37 lb. fish with my eldest son, Russ ,rebaiting the line, and showing off the fish. We got flooded out today unfortunately, but we were able to retrieve all our lines just before the water came up so high. Nightrider- Actually, the state of Kansas holds the world record for Flathead catfish. It stands at 123 lbs. These fish are unlike most other catfish in that they are predators and hunt their food. They are mainly fish eaters and want them alive. Amazing how a fish that big can capture other fish by hunting them down like a bass! It helps that they have huge mouths. basshunter-- No, this one is one pound off our best, which we caught last year. To us, they don't start looking really big till they hit close to 50 lbs. We use a mustad #16/0 circle hook. The hooks wire dia. is near 3/16 in. We hardly ever loose any fish. Our best, 64 lbs., caught last year.

Nice fish. Our flatheads are getting ready to come off the beds/holes. Do you like those circle hooks? We still use J-hooks. We had some of those G looking hooks, cant think of the name? Not a circle hook. We had a rough time getting bluegills hooked on them and small carp/creek chubs etc were impossible.
