I shot this buck Saturday morning at 7:40 . Normally I am a doe hunter but the dang thing was just pretty so I had to give him a ride in the truck. Saturday would have been my Dad's 64th birthday, but he died in 2002. I found it fitting to take this buck as he is a pretty fair sized deer, and it brought the first words Dad would say after seeing him which would have been "Still suckin!" He was a smart ass! I shot him with my trusty 243 at around 200 yards with an 85 gr Sierra boat tail hollow point. He dropped and never wiggled. It was a neat hunt, I heard what I guess was this guy and another fighting earlier in the timber and about 15 minutes later here he came high steppin out. lol I hope you all are having a great trapping and/or hunting season!

A neck shot was mere childs play, and he musta just wanted to keep the rack and skull in good shape! LoL! Great huntin' and shootin' BIL!
