How thick of ice will you go through to trap beaver before its to much effort for the money, ?

all depends on how bad you need the beavers. The most ice i have went through was 6 to 8 inches out by the feed beds.If you locate there runs coming out of the house the ice will be very thin compared to the ice farther away.

I have used the chainsaw many times when the ice got to thick.

Years back when beaver were worth something I often power sawed thru 20 inches of ice to set for them.

How thick of ice will you go through to trap beaver before its to much effort for the money, ? Any ice is too much effort for the current price we get for beavers. Open water is way easier for me.

The only better than chopping through a foot of ice,is then having to carry the beavers for half a mile.

I never have traped a beaver threw the ice, I might just try it this winter just so I can say I did it lol
