I have digger foxes on two different lines. I am not having any success in catching the little rascals. I have swapped out traps, checked for solid bedding, moved the traps, changed up freeze proofing, changed bait, lure and position of the dog in relations to the bait/dirt hole. Do any of you have any ideas that I might try. Instead of being angry, I am trying to turn the frustration into a learning experience and learn how to catch these little terrors.

I would go with a flat set,,3 hole,,,just a piece of fur,for bait hole1 hole 2 a shot of urine,,hole 3 leave empty. Make them close to the problem sets.

well I found how to catch those fox and yotes that dig up your trap is set your normal set as usual with the pan of trap very visable to him and then set another trap well hidden back 18 inches back on the down wind side .works well .

Where you from copperhead? Are you a trapper now or want to be a trapper. I think Trapp could help you out as he lives in the interior of BC. He would most likely know of lines that might be open. But my guess they are far and few between.

We responded to the same questions on copperhead's post on the BC Forum.

Thanks guys,I appreciate it.Im in the Mackenzie area and am jumping in with both feet.I know trappers in the area but they seem reluctant to sell , lease ,or let others work them.I have been in contact with the Ministry,Omenica Fish and Game, and the BCTA reps. They are giving me lots of help so that's awesome. They tell me they are trying to get the Govt to release the dormant lines in the area but its a slow process.Any other info would be great Thanks Copperhead
