This past weakend was the Fort St John Trappers Assoc anual rendezvous, It was a compleat success. The week end camp out included lots of kids games and a few grown up ones mixed in too, I tried to get pix of it all but was havin so much fun I failed miserably at pickin up the camera, thank goodness the Mrs was takin a few pix.
Here is a pix of the trap board game I built and some of the kids who kept me buzy for the next few hours settin traps and catchin tennis balls
A young fella about to win a prize
Here are some of the competers enjoyin thier prizes
Here young Jack is tryin to catch a bag of candy in the fish pond
Part of the obstical course and the volly ball game
The ballon pop game
The youngsters learnin how to make a fire to compeat in th tea boil, they have to biuld a fire with nothin but the kindling,5 wood matches and a knife, then the first one to get there water to boil wins
Gettin ready to give it a try on there own
My daughter and two of our nabors boys all workin on gettin fires going
The spike drivin compition
Braggin time, Brittney won, she wopped the boys
Chicken poo bingo
Bannock cookin
There were many more kids games such as apple bobbin, archery, siftin for treasher in the sand pile that I didn't get pix of. There was also a compition for king and queen trapper, for the king trapper they had to do a tee boil, trap setting with big mitts on, a grain bag relay with big plywood snow shoes and then make a dirt hole or blind set. In the Queen trapper contest they had a fryin pan toss, bannock cookin, trap settin and a few other events that I didn't get to watch. All in all we had a great weekend, good people, good food and good times. I got to finaly meet a few trappers I had only ever talked to on forums befor, kinda neat to put a voice to the name lol. We had tones of prizes and raffles, some of the top prizes were a marlin 45/70, an nice 22 mag, a husky power saw, $500 gift card for sears, and a power saw carving of a grizly bear that my wife was lucky enough to win. I am already exited for next year
