The bucket set for otter is used alot in Newfoundland & Labrador. They wire a rail road tie plate to the bottom of the bucket to sink it and drill 3 half inch holes in each side of the bucket.

The set is an excellent harvesting tool. The white is the attractor. It works best in 4 feet + water. Around beaver huts,The bends on rivers where the drit wood piles up. Beaver dams that drop off The bucket needs 2 plates on rivers 1 inside 1 outside. The spring slots should be cut in 6 inches with the trap wired in at the first inch. 2 cables are needed 1 for the trap 1 for the bucket. Otter travel great distances some sets stay dead for a month or more.. otter seldom run alone so its better to gang set. good luck.
