I beleive this is one of those Ford, Chevy, Dodge questions. Everyone may have a different opinion. This year I caught 6 of my 12 coyotes in foot hold traps. Two in 1.5 Dukes, Two in MB 550's and two in a #3 Dukes (1 2 coiled and 1 4 coiled) All held the coyotes. I had one for sure pull out of a coyote and it was in a 2 coiled #3 Duke. The 1.5 is not the best trap for coyotes. The jaw spread is small, so you have to have a lot of luck and some skill to even get the coyote caught. The MB 550 is a great trap, but too has a smaller jaw spread than a #3. The #3 has a good jaw spread and when tuned properly is a good trap. I think for next year I will use #3 Fully modified Montana's in the dogless design. I think for the money, they offer the most. Four coiled traps do not work well for me because of past injuries, I have a very hard time setting them. Hope this answers your questions. There are a lot of good traps out there and some junk. I would suggest you use a trap that is easy for YOU to set and bed solid. Those are the two most improtant things as I see it. If legal in your area, snares are a great tool for coyotes and can increase your catch numbers with a minimum of work. Good Luck

I have tryed a few difrent brands, if ya just want to dye and set I cant say enough good things about the MB 650. I also have a buch of #3 montanas fully modded that were good to go right out of the box. If you dont mind doin some mods and tunin the duke #2 and #3 have put alot of coyotes on my boards, these are just os and 2 coil. Bridger #2 and #3 did the same. I have a few sleepy creek #3 and the catch good but I dont realy care for them much. Dont for get a few modded LS for when the snow gets deep. The #3 victor soft catch work too, not my favrite but the hold good, and can double as a lynx trap. these are just somew that I have played with, hope it helps.

I will sound like a broken record! LOL! I agree with the others. My favorite is mb650. My next fav. is mb 550, then the montana #3. I will say that the 650 is a beast. Love these traps.
