All I have is wire, but another trapper (with 40+ years) told me I could put some hose on the wire, and it would have a look like it was streached on a board. Anyone else ever do that?

I have never streched a coon but for all my other boards are wood, I was told you get more money for wood streached critters. On fur out critters I heard the wire could even ruin the leather and get your pelt down graded?? Any one know is any of this is true?

Basically only muskrat & coon are streched on wire, i even prefer wood for coons, everything else is stretched on wood i find you get a better appearance i bought wire stretchers for mink & marten and will never use them again,
