I tried it, it helped a little, but I could not tell that it helped agreat deal. Good Luck if you try it.

I tried it, it helped a little, but I could not tell that it helped agreat deal. Good Luck if you try it. Agree with Harold, biggest reason for splatter is dirty steel,wrong type of rod or wire and temp setting. At least that is what i have found.

being a pipe line welder doesn't make me an expert on wire feed welding but I do know that clean all parts to be welded till shine , use a grinder if real bad. A eccessive spatter is s sign of too high of an volt setting. Also clean the grounding point well. Of course a shielding gas will help if you r using flux cored wire. I think that spatter block is mostly used for the nozzle and contact tip area, or on threads and stuff of that fine nature in the weld area.

Well ya might not be a wire feed expert but being that you burn more inches in a shift than most of us do in a year, I would bet your info is probly reliable lol. good to see ya postin again, hadnt herd from ya in awhile.

Your heat is a little to high, or you have a poor ground connection. Your wire feed could be set to high,Or you could be welding a little to far away,Try on some scrap first to get it set up. if your getting eccessive splatter
