well the fathers day gopher hunt with the three boys was a bust  got a half a dozen or so. All the rain this year the grass in the pastures is knee high and the mosquitos were the worst I had ever seen on the praries. O well. All them gophers that you cant see will make for some well fed yotes this fall. |

Sorry the hunt didn't go as planned OY, but like you say this fall all them gophers will be dollers in your pocket.

Got out again today with my 3 boys, two uncles and a cousin. It was a place that was overgrazed so they had no where to hide. Not a good day to be a gopher ;D we must have shot 200 or so.

One year I hope to get out that way and meet some of the guys I have made friends with on these forums, you can bet Unity will be on the list of towns we have to stop in lol.

I was just lookin at a map and when I finaly get over to see Trappintime we will be invadin you too, lol, you are only a stones throw from were he lives so no way are we going that far to see him and not commin to see meet you.

Hmmm, nver thought of hunting them, around here people just trap them. Are yours pocket gophers or something different?

What we call gophers are actually a groung squirrell of some sorts . Some years they desimate farmers feilds, both planted and pasture. It is good clean fun helping the farmers out ;D ;D ;D. Besides I think thats why god made them, to teach kids how to shoot.

We make "tar" out of ground squirrels and groundhogs every now and then so those gophers shouldnt be any different? Are they the same critter that they have in the SW US that can carry the plague
