This is how I build my weasel box's. I build mine 16 inches long. I like to use rubber inner tube for hinges as they never freeze up and they are free at any tire shop, free is always good ;D A little wire mess on the back to let the smell go threw and make it look more open to the weasels. Put your bait at the back near the mesh, I like to crowd the bait with my trap so hopfuly the weasel is all the way into the box befor it gets caught so nothin can eat it and then it is not frozen half in and half out of the box. It should work somthin like this Not like this, I had to bring this box back home and thaw the weasel out befor I could remove him from the box.

It gets the job done,i could never find rat traps with the expanded trigger,

Well after my cable experiance I hate to do any advertizin for them but helford hide stoks them, and Wayne Sharp at the NAFA depote in Prince Gourge BC, stocks them. I have also seen pix of traps that people used election sighns or wire mesh to make the big pan.

We have them in the local hardware stores and wally world here. Farm supply too.

great looking set ups guys.... we have tons of those rat traps with the wide trigger pans around here at Lowes, home depots, and hardware stores like Ace westlake.
