Well i went out to do another nuisance beaver call today and borrowed a chums canoe just in case i needed one as mine are up at camp. When i got to the spot and got out of the truck my left knee the one i had fixed gave out and down i went hitting the ground and scratching the lenses on my glasses and skinning the elbows. After that i put the canoe in the water, the canoe is a fiber glass12 footer with greased curved or rounded bottom. When i first got in i almost flipped but got the canoe steadied and paddled out to the dam. After setting a couple traps on the dam i went to get back in the canoe and before i knew it i was neck deep in stinky swamp water. My glasses have fallen off so now i have to feel the bottom. with my hands. After 5 minutes i found my glasses in the muck just beside the canoe thank god. Covered in swamp muck i get back in the canoe and paddle to the road. By this time my golden retriever does not even recognize me and is barking inside the truck. I remove all my cloths except my briefs and head for home. Going down the highway a police car pulls up behind me with its lights flashing and i,m thinking this is going to be good, but when i pull over he scoots on by thank god.Got home and had a shower and 2 drinks of rum. Tomorrow will head back out to check then off to camp for the weekend, but i will be bringing my flat bottom 15 foot canoe home on Sunday. What a day!

Hit # 30 today and was a big female and her teets were very large. Must have had a late litter as i have never caught beaver this late int the summer to have that large of teet.

Your sure getting lots of nuisance work....!
Are the otter marketable this time of year or just a right off?
