Dye, paint or what, what do you use, what works best.

I Like the dye personally. I have used walnuts and some commercial dye. Both seemed to work equally well. The walnut hulls around here are free, just pick them up.

Ya I use logwood crystals and wax for my K9 traps, and am spray painting most every thing else, I do like the formula1 trap dip for water traps and martin traps, but I get tremclad rust paint free from a friend so it works better cause of the price lol

I use logwood trap dye for all my traps and snares, but i have noticed that there is a lot more people going to paint. Paint on leg holds i would say a no to but for conibears well most the animals we catch with them are not sensitive to odd smells.I enjoy the day when boiling traps with logwood, it takes some time but well worth the effort.

I had no problems with the paint on my coyote and wolf traps, they caught just as good as any other but the paint biulds up with recoats, and boilen them to get them clean kinda makes a mess of the paint, on k9 it is better for the long run to just dye and wax.
