Hey guys! I'm kinda "bucket dumb" and rarely use them because of that fact. I have heard that the bucket is a big part of the "eye appeal" to the set. Do you find that painting them possibly slows sucsess, or does it not matter at all? Many trappers swear you will do better on the fur if it is left white? Also do you paint them for animal purposes or to keep people from noticing them, or some other reason?

well i am bucket dumb to] never used them before. but i have seen them painted camouflage on another forum and they worked well. I am also a little scared of theft, but i will leave half of them white and hide them better and compare.

Something like that. Baited it with a can of the kids old Chef Boyardee noodles. And it's just plain gray. Foregot what came in that bucket.

i kept a few buckets that a co-worker had.I think they had kitty litter in them. They were a perfect fit for a 160. I figure i may want to throw out a few at sometime, or give em to someone down the line that can use them. These are more rectangle though instead of square, which is why they fit the 160 well.

That is a great camo job White316. I have some that I painted up but most of them I leave alone. I am not sure it makes much difference. As far as theft, if I am really concerned about it I will just point the opening away from the direction that a human would take so they don't see the trap unless they investigate closer. Most people see a bucket in the ditch or creek and think it's just a trash bucket covered with debris. Here is a pic of what I do to round buckets beside a regular square bucket. The round ones are much more accessible, you can find them along any road it seems.
