Well me and the two younger boys put out a few sets in the pot holes around the house . The water is only a foot or two deep so thought that I we mind as well trap them as see them freeze out. I havnt set a trap in open water for rats in 25 year, forgot how much work it was sloshing through the cattail in chest waders! ha ha ha . It still amazes me how fast they can populate a slough when you have good rains two years in a row.

Glad you had some fun with your two boys oldyote . 19 rats over night out of a few pot holes is very good. I hope you do just as good on your other pot holes. If there are to many rats in a small area you will get fighting and lots of scared up rats. Spring time is the worst for rats being bitten.

Well check two produced 26 rats. We have two more potholes to do but I might not get there. Pulled the sets at three spots and reset at one a mile down the road. I was at one of the boys hockey practice tonight and a town counceler said that muskrats chewed the wires off a pump and asked me to come thin them out so I will have to try to get there tomorrow.

20 rats today . I only have one slough still set. Went and looked at the slough the town was having problems at and it is so big that i couldn't find where they are living. I never had time to make any sets , tomorrow.

13 today, something ate or at least mauled two on one pond and was only a foot in another. The trap withthe foot was set to drown them and it was found in plenty enough water with the foot so I think the same culpit got that one also. Maybe a Mink?
