Well there must be someon e looking out for me! There was a hold up on fittings on the job so I end up with two days off. Made three beaver sets on some golf course land , couldn't find much rat sign so I saved my subs for tomorrow . Heading up to the brother inlaws land where I know of a real good slough were I trapped beaver last winter so I am confident there will still be rats in it. Did I mention it is opening day of draw mule deer season tomorrow, and I have a buck tag! And to top it off the wife is gone to vegas and all the kids ar farmed out around the country. LoL The sun shines on a dogs butt some days!!!

Good luck with your beaver and mule deer hunting, don,t get to excited about your new found freedom..............they will return..........lol

Well one big beaver in a set in the run going into there house. Couldn't find the mule deer I have been chasing with my muzzle loader now that I have the ultra mag along! Got out about 15 traps and 5 subs for rats but it was hard going ,some ponds have some ice and if the wind calms down alot of my sets will be froze in. What do you do, got to try . The subs will be alright but some will be shin bashers on the ice to get them tomorrow morning. Call me crazy but I called to see if a kid or two wanted to come home for a night. Just to darn quite around here!

17 rats , no beaver. Dosn't look like the beaver moved last night, no bubbles . Seen a real large mulie this morning but couldn't get a shot off. Going to skin the rats and head out for the evening hunt. Poked a hole in my neoprene waders the first slough so I ended up with a real wet foot for the day. Any one have any tips in fixing them?
