Trapping on hold. Last tuesday i went to help a friend do up a cow,we got a rope on her and i got in to separate her from the others when she realized she was tied she went crazy. It charged me chest level and run me in the barn wall i felt a bad pain in my back and dropped to my knees it was coming at me again so i had to lay down to avoid getting hurt worse, i crawled out and layed on the ground in pain,i managed to get up and take control of the gun I'am getting around better every day but still hurt,

Just wondering if you got back at it after the injury. Are you doing a little trapping or that's it for this year?

Been working on some fur to get ready for the sale 2 raccoons were all chewed up on the back not worth doing. 1 mink was shot with bird shot scraping bbs is hard on the knife. 1 fox i think got tangled in the barb wire lots of holes. You never know the quality of a pelt till you get it ready.

I have a hard time knowing where to draw the line. I usualy have too much time into it by the time I decide it is not worth doing .

to bad about the fur being so bad, some time one does not know how bad it is till you have it skinned out. I had to discard two marten pelts this year because od bird holes.

white, that is horrible you got injured that way. Are you completely healed from it? Like getting hit with a dang truck.
Your season was shaping up real good too, and were already piling them up. I know what you meant about finding the fur in bad shape during fleshing. Coons are bad about that. Like opening a plain box and you don't know what is in it until you start getting it open.
Hang in there buddy, next season is almost here, and you can take off running again.
