Winter rats

Ok I was wundering if any one has a mid winter rat set that I don't have to disturb the houses or push ups? I am looking for a proven performer. Lol I seen some on line but was looking from something from guys who I trust . I do enjoy trapping houses and push ups in the spring but don't want to freeze them out. We have 16 inces of ice.

I havent tryed it as my rats seam to all bank den but my trappin instructer told me the way he does it now so as to not freaze them out is mark the runs and once the ice is thick enough go out on it and cut a hole and put in a sub trap, come back in a day or 2 and empty out all the rats, He says it is just that simple lol
