When I put up beavers they always look good till they start to dry then I can see where there is still a little fat some times than I missed. Does it hurt them to give these areas a little scrape with my stirrup flesher? It does make the leather look adiffrent in these areas but al teast there is no fat left . I was just wundering if it hurt my grade much? I usualy end up with around sale averages at auction but maybe I could be doing better. We din't have alot of beavers so I am not that great at puting them up.

That should not harm the leather as long as there is no excessive scrapping. One will only get better at removing all the fat with the more you do. The rump section seems to be the worst. One still has to wipe the beaver when they start to dry as they still will sweat oil.
