Opening day,, couple of the 25 largemouth we caught mostly alot of 4lb bass, we caught (3) 5lb bass,, Using Jig, and worm.... Attachments:

Our season here is june 26 to nov 30 in ontario for Bass...

Ive heard of states/provinces doing that. Is it to protect the females during the spawn? They spawn here right around the time the bluegill in late April-May do and they use to really get slaughtered for those two weeks. Is it the male that guards the nest? I know as kids we caught alot of egg laden females right before they hit the nests with a worm or minnow and bobber. Sometiems we'd catch the spawn and catch the bluegill's and bass on bluegill rigs.
