Moose tags are out and my brother got 2 tags for his family and my chum that i hunted with for years got a cow tag.. Looks like they are all sey for this fall.

Is all moose hunting in your area based on a draw system ? Here the draw is for mature bulls and cows. There is an open season for two point bull moose for any hunter. What we have come to call " Miracle Bulls".  |

Yes Ron you have to enter the draw system if you want to get a bull or cow. If you are not one of the lucky ones all you get to hunt is calf.

wolf, do you only get a single calf, or can you take more. I would think it would be better eating, although much smaller.

Jase if you do not get an adult tag then all you can hunt is calf and that alone is not very productive. Although i see many over the summer months when fall comes momma knows when to take her calf off the beaten track. But that is not my worry anymore. #1 son took over  |

Our season opened here on the 15th, my oldest daughter got her first licence and tags this year and is just twitchin to go huntin, it is just to darn hot right now to go thow, it was 36c here today. we nead a sweating smily lol

Our archery season opens tomorrow, heading off this morning with my son for the week. Bull tag, I wait all year for this day, moose hunting and trapping next, life does not get any better for me.
