Was at the river yesterday and managed to hook into one 32#. Things were slow and we only seen one other 40 ish ponder caught. Story of my life , should of been here yesterday! A guy was telling me the night before a dozen were caught.

Awsome, never have fished for them, were you alowd to keep it or are they catch and reliese?? I had stergin one time in a resturant and it was realy good.

Pretty cool fish. I have caught only 2 ever. Biggest was around 20lbs.
My cousins in Kenora area catch a few on a regular basis........and some big ones.

Nope they are an incidental catch. Release only. That is about the biggest I have caught I seen one come in several years ago that was over 6'. Guessing 80 Or 90 pounds. Fun as hell to catch. Was about a 30 minute fight for me yesterday. I have a pretty heavy 9' rod and run a Abu Garcia c6500 bait caster that hold @230 yards of 17 land test. I never had to chance him down the river bank. Lol. The other fella yesterday had a medium action 6' walleye rod and his fish man handled him. Lol. When he did get it in he was about 500 yards down river.
