Well pulled the traps at the one lodgs that I had the luck at . Caught two more small ones today. Got them in the same two sets as the last two times ! Lol. Had no action on the foot holds so I moved all three traps to blind sets , Hopefully that changes my luck. They will not go near anything to do with lure so I will go with them for a bit. I guess I educated them . To bad but to late now. I never trapped beavers in the fall so bound to mess up a bit.

Forgot to mention I set up the big slough for rats today . I burrowed a canoe and it really helped to use as a sleigh to haul all the subs , foot holds and Seb. Lol. I thought there would be more rats but managed to set 17 subs and about 20 foot/ conni's. see what tomorrow brings.

That is darn good rat trapping for sure yote, your really bringing in the numbers. I have a few good spots on the new line that have some good rat sign but no time for them with the beaver taking all the time. Looking forward to your next set and check.

Well yasterday I checked a slough that looked realy good! It was not big ,maybe 3 acres but I could see 6 or 7 big houses from the road . I also could see a hot run going into the road and I happened to have a 12" sub in the back of the truck so I maxed out my rubber boots to get it set as a "sampler"! It is a persomel best of 10! I set the rest of the slough up this afternoon. I did not re-set the run but there was a little one going into the road a little ways down so I set a 4" square sub in it . Time I was done and stashed the canoe I walked by it and it held three already! so I ended up with 47 rats today. but that includes 3 the neihgbor gave me that she caught in her fish nets.

Muskrat Annie?? Lol. The only thing I know about rat trapping is the the best entrances to the houses are "just a bit" over your shoulder length gauntlet gloves! Lol I wish my rats lived in more bank dens . That walking out to all the houses gets hard on the legs.

I like the tailgate shots but lets see some pics of your trapping grounds...........I know I dont have any areas on my line that would produce muskrats like that so it would be nice to see some areas that will. Looks like the 1 wire doors are working just fine.............

They are all just farm land ponds. This is a shot I took a couple days ago. I took 40 out of here this year and around the same last year.
