Is there any need to paint or dye marten traps.

None what so ever. But to preserve the trap and make it last longer it is wise to dye your traps or paint. Although i have a hard time with people painting traps it does seem to fit the bill. Another reason for keeping your traps free of rust is to prevent stain on your pelt from a rusty trap plus a rusty trap does not work as well as a clean dyed trap. Remember every little trick that we do is only to help create a better fur product in the end.

HAHA! Why pink? Some trappers on the American forums have said traps need to be black or brown. Some even claim they need to be camo. Animals with few exceptions are color blind so I made some pink traps just to show it does not matter. The biggest problem may be shiny untreated traps or glossy paint. Before I am done with this project I will catch several species in pink traps.
