Sorry no pic of the last beaver in the field. Had him in a 330 in a run at a house that had open water in the runs. I had a heck of a time getting him out. He got himself up the run into the house and died in there. I was glad that I brought my shoulder legnth rubber gloves along. When I did get him out I had him by the back foot. When I went to take him out it slipped out and he fell into the hole!! Me and Seb had a panic attack for a second but I was able to fish it out. All wasn't with out incident though, A tie down snapped on the quad and it came through the back window of the truck. There was a few choice words because when I loaded it Seb said I had it too close! What would a 4 year old know?? LOL. That will take 400$out of the profits.ha ha ha O well could have happened anytime.

I think they are looking pretty good yet. But I am no expert. The leather is still white . For fear of sounding to much like a green horn does the leather not start to turn back to blue?? Looking at the photo it looks like it is starting. They are not as pretty as bctomcat but I am trying.

This is the same house that we had snared the one at. This time they just got the bark .I tell myself that They where pups and I was glad not to catch them! Lol. We also set up another house where I marked the runs last fall.Got two conni's in runs and two snare poles a little farther out from the house where the runs widen up. There was 18 inches of snow over one run and when I went to shovel it out the shovel went through! THERE WAS Literaly no ice just snow and 5 feet of ice cold water. My heart skipped a bit. I would have remembered what cold realy was. Reminds me that I can never be to careful expecialy with my side-kick Seb along.

One more check and I will be done for now. I want to leve the rest for seed. The two places that i was suppose3d to clean out on the golf course land I can't seem to get any action at all. I had snapped traps in both places right off the bat and now they wont touch anything, not even snares! I will have to re-asses once the ice is gone. It wont be long.

well done on the beaver. Monday i have a few spots where the beaver are causing problems and will go and set up a few sets. Open water is so much easier.

I have the two spots on the golf course to try and get them also when the ice is gone . I have never trapped more than a couple beaver in open water. What I like about the ice is I can drive right to them. I also have to watch for the wire chewing muskrats at town if they wintered to catch them before they start fighting.
