Ok I am staying accross the alley from a UFA farm supply and I can see through the fence that they have what looks to be 1"x1" wire ! You all know all my dilemma's with trying to get 1 x2 So my question is what gauge of sheet metal is the funnel? I talking about round subs of course. I got one in on the bus from halfords and the funnel is thin. Also any ideas on a source for cheap material for making the funnel?

You can buy tin pots at most Dollar Stores that you can use to make the funnels.

I made most of mine from old advertizing sighns I ended up with, I bought some flashing to make a few others but it wasnt cheep, I would look for any old skrap tin, old bone yards and such might be a good place to look.

Another question. Is the 1x 1 14 gauge !! I am two hours away from home and don't have one of my subs near me so I can compare thickness. I think the 14 gauge stuff looks right. I just wanted to ask before I bought it. It is nice though they sell it by the foot. The 1x 1 36" 14 gauge is 3.19 / ft Seems like a fair price. A 12" sub would be 10 $ worth of wire or so.

I found the mother load for tin I think. I think my store bought sub uses eavestrough material for the funnel. And it just happen to have a buddy who has a eavestrough buissness. I got 50 feet for nothing because it is scratched. Going to start tinkering with them this after noon. I will post pics if I make any progress. Lol
