This is my first deer ever shot with a pointy stick (bow). Our deer population is so over run that we can now shoot them in town limits . This deer was taken from my back deck with a cross bow today. Can't beat that hunting from your own deck.  |

Got another one today. Had 4 come out to eat the apples and took the buck.    The arrow was a bit high but it only went 80 feet. Another deer gone. |

Not much expense to hunt that meat. Should be good eating. Did you build a blind on the back porch?  Thanx for sharing. |

Had another doe come tonight but did not feel like doing another deer up.

Yes trap very inexpensive way to hunt. My wife and I don't care for deer meat so I just give to my brothers family and friends. The reason I'm killing the deer is that they attacked my dog a month ago and put the run on me as well in my own yard. Town police would do nothing as well as the MNR. Sept 1st was the opening for deer with a bow and since the town past a by law last year letting people hunt in town limits who have 2 acres. I fit the bill.

Are you using a compound bow? Those look like long arrows for a crossbow?

Good job Rob.
I wish we could do the same here in North Bay, very hard to get a tag. The deer are a nuisance around my house, they eat every flower we put out, clean the cedar trees bare and drive my dogs crazy, plus the crap all over the lawn. Nothing to see 10 a day around here. Dangerous drive from the highway into my house at night.

Are you using a compound bow? Those look like long arrows for a crossbow? Yes Greg a cross bow. The arrows are 20 inch plus tips. I hear you Jim on the deer eating everything. For many years they have eaten just about everything we plant. We don't put no more cedar in. The wife and I counted 32 deer as we drove the 2 mile trip into town. |
