That sure is a nice black one for sure. The slush is still bad but the weather has dropped to the -25 to -30 range and hopefully stiffen things up a bit.I set one more house up that i could get to with out to much difficulty. Maybe by the weekend can run the lakes again.

Wow that beaver is dark,many years ago i trapped a colony and they were all dark like that,i think they were the best paying beaver i ever got.

Did the snares catch either of the two?

I always seem to catch a few black beaver every year and yes they have brought me the most money.Last year my extra large black brought me $80.00. With the beaver price being higher this year i'm hoping to beat that if i can. The most ever i got for 1 beaver was $84.00.

No i have no snares out at this time and both beavers were in 330's. I did some monkeying around today with those snares and have added some plastic tubing to help support the snare when i install to the pole. Heading back out tomorrow to check the one house and maybe set up a couple more. All will depend on wind conditions and low temps.

out yesterday. Took a freind with us so we would have a extra bike in case we got into trouble on the lake with slush. Was a long ride checking out the lake and bays for beaver houses. We did manage to find 3 live houses, many were dead.Only hit one bad spot for slush, other wise the trip was good. I,m at 15 beaver now. On the way out stopped and checked some sets we had put in last week and picked up 2 more.








this beaver house had the runways frose to the bottom and the beaver could not get out of the house. They ate there way through the side of the house to get out. You could see where they were cutting the tree,s down behind the beaver house to feed. The wolves took care of them.

Weather was -24 yesterday but warmed in the afternoon a bit
that was 2 houses we checked for those 2 beaver.
White i,m glad you got to experience tracks on the bike. They will out do the sled anyday in my opinion and much more comfortable then a snowmachine.
Yes fuzz we are having fun hard water trapping beaver, just taking our time and rolling along

was back out today, picked up 2 more beaver. Set up 2 wolf sets and will let sit till next tuesday before checking. Wife and i are headed to cabin for the wekend and some R and R.

Rob in the picture it looks like you only have a foot of snow.

there is about 18 to 20 inches down there on the new line. That open spot is wind swept and does not show depth very good untill you go off the road.Was out to the other line this weekend for some fishing and there is lot more snow out that way, which seems to be in the snow belt.
