White, I just sorta play it by ear. Some years they rub up in early January and some years it is later. Once I catch a couple that have rubbed, I will pull the buckets. With the buckets, you have no options if they are rubbed. I would rather wait till next year than harvest and waste something.

I ran the lines this morning. It was 21 degrees F and cloudy. I had two possums in bobcats sets and one gray squirrel in a bucket. I pulled two cat sets and rebaited and lured the others. The weather people say we will get freezing drizzle/rain tonight then snow Monday night and Tuesday. All sets are weatherized and ready to go. I sure am tired of fighting the snow. This possum, the only one I took a photo of is in the same cat set as the old ugly coon from yesteday. He had a front and hind foot caught in the MB 550. He did not go anywhere.

I had one squirrel in a 220 bucket set. There is a fine freezing mist. It sure was slick on the trap line. All the snow I have been driving on all winter is now a solid sheet of ice. The mist just made it slicker. The pucker factor on the hills was real high.

Blizzaed Warning from 6 AM Tuesday to 6 AM Wednesday. 12-16 inches of snow, wind 25 to 40 Miles per hour, High tomorrow is 20 degrees F with a wind chill of -5 to 1 Degrees F. I think I will wished I had tripped my traps come morning. Brrrrr How much snow can a 4 X 4 run in. I have never driven in more than 10 or so inches

Good winter tires will make all the difference.

I bought new tires early summer that are a little more aggressive than a regular mud and snow tires. It is blowing and snowing out there now. Brrrr .... Cam I have no idea what the Kansas record is for snow fall in one day. I have lived here since 1978 and if we get the predicted high end, it will be the most, at least as far as I can remember.

I ran the two lines this morning in a full blown blizzard, It was very exciting, but not at all fun. I had two squirrels in 220's and a coon in a K-9 set. He was pretty skinny and his fur was rubbed.

That coon looks like it would rather be somewhere else.

LOL, when I got the trap off him, he headed South at a high rate of speed. He had a rub or two that I saw, so I let him go
